One month in the Philippines

In January 2023 I managed to check off a major bucket list item – the Philippines.

A week-long island-hopping adventure soon spiralled into a month-long seven-island odyssey. 

During the trip – we managed to go to Bohol, Siargao, Coron, Palawan, Cebu and Boracay, as well as day tripping to dozens of smaller paradiselike islands.

We also joined a week-long Tao expedition from Coron to El Nido.

We took about ten flights, boats, buses, taxis, TukTuks and cars – and covered thousands of kilometres of territory.

When I was researching the trip – lots of people warned against biting off more than we could chew. The traffic is horrendous, the roads are often in poor condition, island time rules, and the flights are notorious for being delayed or cancelled.

I’m happy to report that with all the logistics and transport, the most we came up against was a 15 minute delay. We had no cancellations and missed no connections.
